Briones Park
Trail Information

With its rolling, grassy hills and secluded, shady canyons, Briones is a secret wilderness surrounded by the towns of central Contra Costa County. Although the park is close to Lafayette, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Concord, and Martinez, there are peaks from which you can see park and watershed lands for miles in every direction. From Briones Peak one can view panoramas of Mount Diablo and the Diablo Valley to the east, the Sacramento River Delta to the north, the East Bay hills and Mt. Tamalpais to the west.

Carquinez Strait Regional Seashore
Park Information

Comprising almost 2800 acres of scenic vistas and shoreline, the bluffs of the Carquinez Strait Regional Shoreline offer a panoramic view from Mt. Tamalpais to the west to Mt. Diablo to the east. Park is open from 5 am to 10 pm. Recreational activities include hiking, horseback riding, birdwatching and mountain biking.
